Reminder: Â CORI's will be accepted through the end of December for Westford school volunteers during the 2017/2018 school year. Â If you plan to volunteer in a school or chaperone on a school field trip and you haven't already done so, please refer to the information below for processing.
CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information) Chapter 385 of the Acts of 2002 amended M.G.L. c.71, §38R requires schools to screen current and otherwise qualified prospective employees and volunteers, who may have direct and unmonitored contact with children, for all available Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI).
Westford requires CORI checks been done for all staff and volunteers on an annual basis.
If you plan to volunteer in Westford Schools, we require annual CORI checks.  Please apply for a CORI check for the 2017/2018 school year via your school office.  All CORI checks need to be updated for the current year by January 1, 2018.Â
FINGERPRINTING -Â Westford Public Schools requires that all field trip chaperones and volunteer athletic coaches complete the fingerprint obligation in addition to the annual CORI background check. Fingerprinting does NOT need to be updated annually. Therefore, if you have a Fingerprint record on file with WPS, no additional record is required at this time. Â
