Social Justice

June 4, 2020

Dear Westford Staff, Students, and Residents,

Once again, we see our nation being divided by an unconscionable act of racism.  As a society, we continue to take steps to practice and promote social justice, however, the unjust death of George Floyd demonstrates how much work remains to be done.  We must do more.  We must do better.

Racism is learned and only through education will we continue to build a kind, caring, respectful society free of bias and racism.  Westford Public Schools will remain committed to this, inspired by the words of Dr. Martin Luther King:

“We must come to see that the end we seek is a society at peace with itself, a society that can live with its conscience.”

With warm regards,

Everett V. Olsen, Jr.
