Attention Second Grade Families

Updated: 5/14/2018

Good Morning,

It came to my attention that the link to order the t-shirts shared in my Friday, May 11th message did not work.  I am resending the letter regarding the transition to Abbot with a working link.

I'm sorry for the confusion.

Respectfully,

Mrs. DuBois

Hello Families of Nabnasset Second-Graders,

We are very excited to welcome you and your child to the Abbot School.  Our goal is to make the transition as smooth as possible for children and parents so we have scheduled several events that we would like to bring to your attention.

Parent Orientation

We invite parents of second grade students to a "third grade orientation", which will take place on June 12 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Abbot School.  At this event you will meet the principals, hear about our wonderful school, and have the opportunity to ask questions.  We hope to see you all there!

Penpals

As you may know, the third grade students at Abbot wrote letters to the second grade students at Nabnasset to share their insight regarding their third grade experience at Abbot.  The second grade students will be responding to their third grade penpal soon!

Move-Up Day

During the school day on June 21 your students will travel to the Abbot School to see the school, meet their third grade teacher and spend time with their pen pals.  This is always a very exciting day for the students!

T-shirts (action needed!)

Thanks to the Abbot School PTO, all second grade students will be given an Abbot School t-shirt as a welcome gift.  These shirts will be distributed to the second grade students at the end of this school year.  We ask all parents to please complete this electronic form by May 16 so we can order the proper size.

Again, we welcome you and your child to the Abbot School.  Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Kerry Clery, Ed.D., Acting Principal of the Abbot School

Carolyn Jerzylo, Assistant Principal of the Nabnasset & Abbot Schools

Lori McDermott, Incoming Principal of the Abbot School
