Good Afternoon,

We were excited to welcome incoming kindergarten students during the two days of screening.  Leaving the comforting rituals of life at preschool or at home can be scary.  Many clung to stuffed animals and parents.  What a difference a year will make.

We had our first fire drill since the fall.  Everyone was out of the building in a minute!

A huge thank you to Bill Olsen of Let's Get Loud Entertainment for setting up Movie Night last Friday night.  As you can see on our Facebook page, it was a popular event.

The Nab/Abbot Red Sox tickets were popular again.  There are 26 Abbot groups and 28 Nab groups with a total of 244 people attending the May 14th game.

Next Thursday, May 17th is an early release day (12:20PM dismissal).  We have our final professional development afternoon.  K-5 staff members are meeting in PLC groups to wrap up their goals for this school year.

Mrs. Mallon has planned another Spring Spruce Up for the same afternoon (between 1:00-3:00PM).  All are welcome to help plant flowers, pull weeds, and spread mulch.  It would be helpful to bring any of the following:  rake, tarp, shears, wheelbarrow or bucket.  Don't miss the special presentation in the Nab Lab at 2:00PM to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the unique garden space in the center of the school.

If you are unable to attend, but would like to donate supplies, please visit the PTO website at:

Invitations were sent home this week for our annual Volunteer Appreciation Celebration.  Please join us on Monday, June 4that 2:00PM.  Your commitment to our students must be celebrated!

The message below is from three Westford Academy seniors seeking support from the Nab community on their Senior Project:

Hi Everyone!

Our names are Emma Krosky, Hannah Kettering, and Connor Coulter and this year for our Senior Capstone Project we are working with the Princess Charlotte Project. The Princess Charlotte Project was started by Janet O'Shea in memory of her daughter Charlotte O'Shea who endured four plus years of aggressive cancer treatments for AT/RT brain cancer. During her six years of life, Charlotte spent a lot of time at the Jimmy Fund Clinic and at Children's Hospital. She loved dressing up as a princess and engaging in imaginative play even while inpatient at the hospital. Despite the difficult treatments she managed to accomplish so much, made friends wherever she went and kept a smile on her face. Charlotte was truly a brave princess! Our project collects brand new princess and superhero costumes and accessories that are delivered to the Jimmy Fund Clinic at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Children's Hospital Neuro-Oncology and Oncology floors. There are many princesses and superheroes needing costumes. From now until May 22nd, we will be holding costume drives around the town at the Nabnasset, Miller, Old Nab, and Frost schools. Item donations may include a new costume with tags, gift cards to Amazon or the Disney Store, or a monetary donation through PayPal. We require new costumes only because they need to be in pristine condition for cancer patients. For more information about the project and how to donate you may visit the website at https://www.princesscharlotteproject.org. Thank you!

The next message is for all families of second grade students:

Hello Families of Nabnasset Second-Graders,
