Classroom teachers have the Field Day t-shirts you ordered for your children.  They will be handed out on Field Day (June 12th).  Parent volunteers who have ordered an adult shirt can pick them up at the school next week.  We are unable to order staff, student, and volunteer t-shirts at this point.  The deadline could not be changed.  The volunteer slots are filled, and we are excited to have the support!

The second distance learning assignment is due by May 19th to make up for the March 13th snow day.  The third and final distance learning assignment will be sent home on May 25th and due on June 9th.

Have you visited us on Facebook and Twitter this week to find out what has been happening at school?  We strive to share information with you in various ways.  The redesigned Nabnasset webpage should go live on June 4th.

As a reminder, my May 15th letter indicated the following:

Each school within the Westford Public Schools continues to practice the district safety protocol “A.L.I.C.E.” (ALERT, LOCKDOWN, INFORM, COUNTER, EVACUATE), which deals with the unlikely event of an intruder in our school.

Next week, the Nabnasset School will implement one of these routine safety drills.  During previous safety drills, the staff and students here at Nabnasset have planned for and practiced the different options and possible actions outlined within the A.L.I.C.E. protocol.  During the upcoming safety drill, a scenario will be provided in real time, and staff members will determine the appropriate action to take based upon their location and the location of the threat.  Students are taught to listen and follow the directions given by the adult or adults in the room.

The upcoming drill has been planned and prepared in collaboration with Westford Public School's Resource Officer, Detective Geoffrey Pavao.  Detective Pavao will be present at the school to supervise this safety drill when it takes place.

Please contact me if you have any questions regarding the safety drill next week.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Respectfully,

S. DuBois
