Safety Practice

Good Afternoon,

This morning, we conducted a safety drill following our ALICE protocol.  Staff and students reacted to a scenario by determining the appropriate action to take based upon their location and the location of the intruder.  

We are proud of our students and staff for practicing this necessary drill, for holding important safety discussions, and for understanding the important role they all play in keeping our school community safe and secure.

Following the drill, classes talked about the experience.  We reminded students that listening to the adults in the classrooms will ensure that they make safe decisions.  Our goal is to inspire confidence while eliminating unnecessary fear or anxiety as we prepare students to take informed action if needed.  

Detective Pavao and Detective Nicolette were very happy with what they observed and commended the students and staff for their immediate and safe action.  

All in all, this practice of our safety protocol went well, and we all utilized it as an important learning experience.  As always, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
