Roy Pindara Student/Athlete Contributor Scholarship Information & Recipients

 

The Westford Academy Athletic Hall of Fame (WAAHOF) seeks to identify Westford Academy students or student/athletes who have exhibited superior contribution and commitment to one or more sports while enrolled at Westford Academy. The following examples are types of contributions making the respective student eligible: manager for team/program, student/athlete who participated for multiple seasons or years with limited game participation, statistician, etc. The ideal recipient exhibited superior contribution and commitment to one or more sports, regardless of athletic success on their respective team(s), while enrolled at Westford Academy. Students from any class will be eligible, with graduating seniors given preference as scholarship recipient. Annually one student maximum will be determined the scholarship recipient.

  • 2014 Recipient: Alexandra Clark, WA Gymnastics
  • 2015 Recipient: Bradley Jones, WA Soccer
  • 2016 Recipient: Ryan Delaney, WA Football and Lacrosse
  • 2017 Recipient: Blake Mazzaferro, WA Baseball
  • 2018 Recipient: Steven Okuhara, WA Football, Hockey and Baseball
  • 2019 Recipient: Tyler Guillemette, WA Hockey and Baseball
  • 2020 Recipient:  Aidan Timlin. A two sport varsity student-athlete, Aidan is a terrific student and is enrolled in all Honors and Advanced Placement classes. Aidan has had multiple years of success at the Varsity Lacrosse level. However, after four years of hard work and dedication, Aidan made the Varsity Hockey team as a senior. The perseverance that he showed was the primary reason why he achieved his goal of playing Varsity Hockey. The love he has for the game of hockey and the team camaraderie is the reason why Aidan is the perfect candidate for the Roy Pindara Student/Athlete Scholarship.
  • 2021 Recipient: Meghan Mulhern. Meghan is a true leader. Her commitment to WA athletics is unprecedented. She is a two-sport athlete and captain of both hockey and softball. She demonstrated true leadership when she advocated for her winter season in front of the entire athletic community.
  • 2022 Recipient: Sam Cioffi. He is an Ice Hockey & Lacrosse captain. Sam is a player that is dedicated and works hard all the time. He is a great teammate and always makes sure that everyone is included.
  • 2023 Recipient Ruby Krikorian: Ruby is an outstanding contributor to both the swim team and the soccer team.  On the soccer field, Ruby was both the Sportsmanship Award winner and a D.C.L .All-Star.  She was a consistent play-maker, notching 2 goals and 6 assists this season.  In the pool, Ruby switched over to the sport during Covid, and consistently pushed herself to progress in order to contribute at a high level.  In 2022 she was named the team's Most Improved Swimmer after placing 2nd in the 200 yard freestyle relay and 14th in the 50 yard freestyle at the Division 1 State Meet.  In her senior season, she moved up to 10th in the state in her 50 yard freestyle.  After only a few years in the sport, Ruby is now being recruited by Division 1 Sacred Heart University to continue her swimming career at the next level.
