The Blanchard cross country team continued their winning ways with a convincing victory over Chelmsford at home yesterday. The girls team opened the meet in dominant fashion with top finishes from Emily W., Diya S., Emily D., Amrita H., and Nuria L. The boys team then came in and sealed the victory with strong outings from top finishers Andrew S., Aiden G., Jacob B., Charlie S., and Payton S. Congratulations Bulldogs!

The Blanchard girls soccer team beat rival Stony Brook last night under the lights on the Westford Academy turf 1-0.   Helping the team to earn the season sweep of Stony were goalie Olivia C. and a great defensive line of Jillian K., Lauren F., Syd R., Mary Z., Jillian A., and Allyson V.  The Blanchard goal was scored by Alexa C. off a great pass from Emily S. halfway through the first half, and the team held off Stony the rest of the game.  Addie D. did a great job marking Stony's best player, while midfielders Lizzie T. and Sophie C. and striker Paige M. pressured Stony's defense the entire game.

Alex M. made a huge save on a penalty kick to secure the 2-0 win for the Bulldogs against their rivals from Stony Brook under the lights in the stadium at Westford Academy.  Jonah Briggs battled all night against the Panthers best offensive player and completely shut him down.  Also playing well were Ben Chen and Matthew Van Houtte.  Ben out hustled everyone on the field and Matt won all the 50/50 balls out of the air.

Friday, October 29th will be Halloween Spirit Day at Blanchard! Get spooky! Be creative! Come to school in costume or wear your orange and black! This has become a scary fun tradition for students and staff at Blanchard because everyone makes school-appropriate choices. Some guidelines are listed below.

Halloween Spirit Day Costume Guidelines:  Students are still required to wear a mask at all times while in the building. No costume masks, please. Hats will be allowed if part of a costume and not covering your face.  No costumes that could be offensive or a risk to safety.  No weapons, sharp objects, chains or anything that could be perceived as a weapon, damage property, or cause injury.

The deadline for ski club sign up is Friday, October 29th.  See Mrs. Casey, Mr. Merrigan, or Mrs. Ottesen if you have any questions.
