This week we have been observing Neurodiversity Celebration Week by learning about neurodiversity and that neurodivergent people, like all of us, are people with learning differences who have strengths and talents. The concept of neurodiversity is the acceptance that all humans are different, with unique minds, needs, and abilities. Neurodiversity Celebration Week serves as a reminder that no matter what our differences and challenges, everyone has their own strengths and talents. Many people who have ADHD, autism, dyslexia, dyspraxia, or Tourette's Syndrome and struggled in school are now very successful and many attribute their success to their unique way of thinking and perceiving the world around them. Often neurodivergent people are misunderstood.

What can you do? It is important to remember that we should be kind and accepting of everyone. Each of us has the power to make a positive difference for someone who may be having a difficult time. Remember to model empathy as well as respect and kindness, two of our school’s core values. We want to continue to have a culture of respect and  inclusivity–that is how we keep Blanchard a school where everyone feels they belong.

Grade 8 CLICKS classes will be in multipurpose Room B today.
