Blanchard Daily Announcements 3/18/2024

Daily Announcements are shared with students each morning.  Parent announcements are communicated weekly via the Principal's Weekly Newsletter (Blanchard School News).  Daily after school clubs are posted on the Blanchard website Events Calendar.

We are celebrating neurodiversity week. Neurodiversity refers to the diversity of human minds. This includes the differences between how people think, process information, behave and communicate. It refers to a world where neurological differences are recognized and respected as all other human variations.  Depending on how our brains are wired we think, move, process information and communicate in different ways. Neurodiversity is about recognizing those who think differently.  Approximately 15-20% of the population has a neurological difference. Instead of labeling people with deficits or disorders, when we use the term neurodiversity, we take a balanced view of an individual’s unique strengths and challenges.

There will be a spring sports information meeting on Thurs. 3/21. All students interested in learning about our spring sports program should meet in the cafeteria during Advisory. Coaches will be on hand to answer sport specific questions and discuss expectations for tryouts.

Sports teams for spring:  7/8th grade boys & girls are eligible to try out for baseball, softball and volleyball. All grades are invited to join our track team with no tryout required.

Registration for spring sports is now open!  Links for registration and information about the program can be found on our Athletics page.

Book Club for this week has been postponed.

All 6th grade chorus members should be in the gym at this time.
