Dates, Field Day and Distance Learning
Dear JAC-
We have a had some great events over the past two weeks! The students enjoyed the WA Orchestra, The Fifth Grade Play - Peter Pan, The Fourth and Fifth Grade Band concert, and a fantastic Memorial Day Program. Along with the events, we have seen learning in action at the Living Lab, in classrooms, and outdoors during the garden lessons. JAC is a busy place!
As the year winds down, we will come together as a community for Field Day, send our fifth grade to The Environmental Program at East Boston Camps, and our fourth graders will visit the Southwick Zoo.

Distance Learning
As you know from an earlier email from Superintendent Olsen, the School Committee voted on March 26th to support the Distance Learning initiative to recover three of the nine snow days we had over the course of the year. At the Crisafulli, classroom and instructional arts teacher have collaborated to develop Distance Learning assignments for students that are intended to take approximately 90 minutes to complete for grade 3 and 90 - 120 minutes to complete for grades 4 and 5. Students should be able to complete these activities with minimal support. If your child requires a significant amount of support to complete the activities or is exceeding the approximate time period, we ask that you reach out to your child's teacher. Students will receive their third and final assignment this week prior to Memorial Day weekend. The due date for the final Distance Learning assignment will be Friday, June 8th. Students who do not turn in the completed work will be marked absent for the associated snow day. Field Day 2018 - May 31st (Rain Date June 1st)
On Thursday, May 31st, please have your child wear their class t-shirt, sneakers, sunscreen (lotion only), bug lotion and a hat. Please send a labeled water bottle and a snack to school with your child. The weather is looking a great!, please have your child dress for the weather as we will be outside for the majority of the day.
