Penny Wars will be taking place all week next week! Penny Wars is a spirit advisory competition that will help support Breast Cancer Awareness month. The goal is to put as many PENNIES in your spirit advisory jar as possible, and as many NICKELS, DIMES, QUARTERS and BILLS in other spirit advisory jars. Jars will be set up on each of the three floors. See your advisory teacher or the posters around the school for the Penny Wars rules. Start bringing in those pennies on Monday! Any students helping out with Real Kids Wear Pink, please join us in room A112 after announcements today to help set up for Penny Wars.

Real Kids Wear Pink is a challenge to all students- no matter the age- to wear pink on the annual Real Kids Wear Pink day to fight back against breast cancer. This year’s Real Kids Wear Pink Day is Friday, October 22, 2021. Wear your pink to kick off our spirit week in support of Breast Cancer Awareness. Today during morning advisory, students will be selling pink socks, bracelets and masks in the cafeteria in support of Breast Cancer Awareness month and the Real Kids Wear Pink event we are supporting at Stony Brook. Socks are $5.00, bracelets are $2.00, and masks are $1.00. These are available on a first come first serve basis. Come on down!

The cross-country teams took part in a tri-meet against Blanchard and Billerica yesterday afternoon and came away with a split decision. Both the girls and boys were defeated by Blanchard but secured wins against Billerica. For the girls, Abby H was the top finisher for Stony Brook followed by Clare G,
Norah S, Scarlett B, Prakruti K and Grace T. On the boy’s side, TJ C led the Stony Brook team followed by Will B, Orion M, Nick V, Heath P and Phin S. Our next meet is Monday at home versus Chelmsford. Please make sure you get dressed and ready to run. Boys report to Mrs. Severo’s room and girls to Mrs. Peternell’s room.
