It has been crazy to say the least, but we are indeed open for business after kicking everything off with our Virtual Orientation for all of our students this morning. We are now excited to welcome our A Pod hybrid students into the building tomorrow morning and we will see all of the A Pod RLA students in their various google meet morning sessions. As tomorrow is also a Wednesday, the B Pod students will not have any live sessions scheduled for the day but certainly should be logging into their Google Classrooms to see what introductory activities are there for them. They will have live sessions on Thursday and Friday afternoon this week and then we will get the opportunity to welcome the B Pod Hybrid students into the building on Monday and B Pod RLA students will transition to the longer morning live sessions with their teachers, as well. Remember our traffic pattern for drop-off and pick-up is entirely different! If you haven’t reviewed Mr. McElhinney’s videos and instructions, it would be best to do so if you are planning to drive to Stony Brook tomorrow morning: Stony Brook Bus and Parent Drop-off information 2020 We conferred with Detective Pavao earlier to get his perspective on the shift in the traffic patterns and he was on board with the changes. Although we have changed the traffic patterns for busses and cars, if any student needs to be dismissed or is late coming to school the only entrance available for access to the building during school hours is still the front entrance. Therefore, parents or guardians dismissing a student will need to find parking and enter the front of the building and students arriving late need to be dropped off in the front of the building, as well.
As I shared in an earlier update...more info would be coming...and here it is! We are now ready to have RLA students pick up their resources necessary to complete some of their work at home:
If you are HYBRID POD A or HYBRID POD B, your materials packet is with your Advisory teacher in your classroom and will be handed to you on your first day of in-school instruction.
If you are REMOTE LEARNING ACADEMY (RLA), you will need to pick up your packet at Stony Brook School in the front lobby. Those packets are available beginning today, Tuesday, September 15, after 12 PM until 3:00 PM and will be available each weekday from 8:00 AM until 2:30 PM. Please email ldetolla@westfordk12.us if you need to make other arrangements.
