Frosty...an update! SB 12-6-19

Well, that seemed like a quick turn around indeed. With snowflakes as bookends for this very short week, no one seemed too disappointed that we had an extended Thanksgiving break. Hopefully, the next two weeks won’t feel excessively long by comparison.

Now, even with two long weeks left until the December break, I don’t want the 8th grade families to forget about the opportunity to include those super cute baby or remember when they used to be cute photos of our current 8th grade cherubs in the yearbook. Parents of 8th grade students can enhance the embarrassment process by submitting baby pictures of your children for the yearbook.  If you would like to do so, please access this survey (8th Grade Baby Photos) Parents can start submitting photos now, and we will close the survey on December 20th, the last day before winter break. We will also include a link on the yearbook home page.

Of course, with this super short week, don’t forget that the Ski and Snowboard Club sign-ups have started! The club will be going to Nashoba Valley Ski Area on Thursdays this year. We are excited to offer transportation, season tickets, and lesson options for students. Please access the flyer here and return it to Mrs. Sullivan in Room 307. The deadline to sign up is December 7th. That’s Monday at this point!

Just before the break, we were able to enjoy a wonderful sneak-peek performance of Frozen Jr!.  Tickets are going fast but can still be purchased on-line at Show4Tix

Showtimes are:

December 13th at 7:00 pm

December 14th at 1:00 and 7:00 pm

December 20th at 7:00 pm

December 21st at 1:00pm

There is also a character breakfast on Saturday, December 21st at 10:00 am. Tickets for this can be purchased at the same link as above.

Next week, the Scholastic Book Fair will be here in the library. Students will have a chance to visit with their Language Arts classes and advisory. Please visit the book fair web page to learn more and shop online.

Another exciting opportunity is that students will now have access to sign up for J.V. Fletcher Library cards at Stony Brook. This will enable students to have greater access to resources such as books, databases, ebooks, and audiobooks. If you do not want your student to participate, please email our school librarian, Mrs. Smith, at nsmith@westfordk12.us.

Finally, if you have not already seen the update letter from the School Start Time Citizen Advisory Committee, you can access a copy of it here: School Start Time Update

Have a wonderful weekend,
