The Last Hoorah...update 8-24-18

One more weekend before school starts.

Take that in for a minute and allow whatever feeling it elicits to be your focus.  If it is positive and peaceful, enjoy it. If not, take another deep breath and focus on this weekend followed by a long extended weekend soon after that.

As promised last week, here are some upcoming things to put on your middle schooler’s calendar for the weeks ahead if you are needing to replace things like sleep-in late, sleep-in later, and or don’t forget to go to bed tonight.

6th graders join us on Tuesday, August 28 and the 7th and 8th graders join the festivities on Wednesday, August 29.  So that we don’t overwhelm everyone with a full 5-day week and run out of steam before we even get going, there is no school for anyone on Friday, August 31 or Monday, September 3 as we celebrate Labor Day and warm ourselves into a 4-day week to get the new month started.

Nestled in the middle of all that, Mrs. Watson is holding an informational session for parents and students interested in participating in this year’s Stony Brook Theater Arts productions on Thursday, August 30.  The meeting will take place at 6:00 PM in Mrs. Watson’s room.  All are welcome.

Our Back to School night for all three grades (6-8) will take place on Thursday, September 20.

Get lots of sleep and relaxation!  We look forward to seeing everyone next week.

Enjoy,

Chris
