I shared that quote with all of our students at the end of the day yesterday when I made a brief Memorial Day message just before playing Bus Bingo and dancing our way through dismissal on Friday...ok...very few students dance...but I repeatedly get positive feedback on the fact we play music.  Anyway, we took a moment to pause and remind everyone of the purpose of Memorial Day and that at this time we should be remembering all of the medical professionals and other everyday heroes who have sacrificed their lives throughout this past year to protect us and our wellbeing.  I encouraged them all as they go through the weekend, to take time to listen to the stories of those around them and show their gratitude and respect for the acts of valor that have helped shape our world as we know it.

When we come back from the long weekend, we will only have the equivalent of three weeks of school left.  Our phenomenal SBPTO and Gr8 teachers have been planning a variety of events and activities for our Gr8 students for the last few days of school. Once all of those logistics are finalized we will share all of that information with everyone. Between a large celebratory Block Party type event, a wonderful Field Day event, and a school-wide awards presentation, our Gr8 students will have an activity filled last three days of middle school.

To that end, please read the following information for our SBPTO:

Stony Brook School PTO wishes you a Marvelous Memorial Day Weekend!

As with many other activities this year the Stony Brook 8th grade celebration will be looking a little different from past years.  But the Stony Brook PTO is excited to be supporting our school to give our 8th Graders a fabulous celebration on Friday June 18thduring the school day.  In addition to providing a DJ and a special giveaway for every 8thgrade student, the Stony Brook PTO would like to have a fun raffle for the 8th graders.  We are requesting items for this raffle including gift cards, items, or monetary donations.  Volunteers are also needed to make this event a success.  Please check out this Sign Up Genius to donate or volunteer.https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0c45adae29a5f9c07-donations1  All items are needed by June 11th.  Thank you for your continuing support!

Westford Academy Athletic Director Jeff Bunyon has created a short informational video regarding registration for Fall sports at WA for any of Gr8 students interested in playing a fall sport:
