Do you want your artwork to be on the front or back cover of next year's agenda book? Come to the main office to get the sheet to draw your artwork. All submissions are due by Friday, April 28.

Attention any 8th graders attending the Washington DC trip!  Today you will be receiving two forms from your Advisory teacher.  One form is a Permission Slip for the field trip and the other form is an important Medical Form.  Both forms need to be completed and returned to your Advisory teacher by this Friday, April 28, 2023.  Once we have ALL FORMS RETURNED, we will release the bus and chaperone groups.  However, if we need to chase students for these forms, that will delay the release of your bus and chaperone groups.  We CANNOT AND WILL NOT release your bus and chaperone groups until we have all forms turned in.  If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Sweet, Mrs. Craig, or Ms. Ryle.

Reminder: The volleyball team will not have practice today. We have an away game tomorrow. Meet in the lobby after the bell rings dressed and ready to board the bus to Billerica.

There were a number of holidays that occurred over the break. We hope all families celebrating had a safe and happy holiday!

Sunday, April 16 was Greek Orthodox Easter. Greek Orthodox Easter, like other Easter celebrations, honors the resurrection of Jesus. Many of the Easter traditions and symbols are the same as other Christian Easter celebrations, including church services, and feasts.

Eid-al-Fitr (pronounced eed-al-fitter) began on April 21st. The religious festival Eid al-Fitr, or the “Festival of Breaking the Fast,” is one of two major holidays celebrated by Muslims around the world. Eid al-Fitr commemorates the end of the fasting month of Ramadan. An occasion for special prayers, family visits, gift-giving and charity, it takes place over one to three days. After a month of prayer, devotion and self-control, Muslims celebrate the accomplishment of their sacred duties during Ramadan. The festival is a national holiday in many countries with large Muslim populations.

April 22 was Earth Day. Earth Day promotes peace and sustainability of planet Earth and worldwide events are held to show support of environmental protection of the earth. Each year more than a billion people celebrate Earth Day to protect the planet from things like pollution and deforestation. By taking part in activities like picking up litter and planting trees, we’re making our world a happier, healthier place to live.By 1990, Earth Day was an event celebrated by more than 140 countries around the globe.
