Final Exam Notice: Update

Final Exam Notice:

Last week the administration and curriculum leaders at WA agreed to change final exams in June. This means that there will be no separate grade for a final exam. However, there will be summative end-of-year exams/assessments/projects in the last days of school. These assessment grades will be added into the fourth quarter grade for the school year 2021-2022.  It may not be a 90 minute exam, however it will be a significant assessment in order for students to understand the pressures of exams at the next academic level. 

We believe this is in the best interest of our students as we hope to close out two plus years of COVID.  We feel positive about the direction in which our students are headed as we move toward a more typical educational experience. Our teachers have worked hard to address students’ learning needs, however we still have work to do as we finish this year. Our work continues to be laser-focused on our students' health, both physically and mentally. 

Please know that we will continue to challenge our students throughout the remainder of this academic year, including the administration of appropriate and challenging assessments prior to the last day of school.
