Working Permit - Ages 14-18

Child labor laws limit the hours workers under the age of 18 can work and the kinds of jobs that they can do. State law also requires employers to have Youth Employment Permits (work permits) on file for all workers under 18. In Massachusetts, children under 14 may not work, except in very limited cases.

Under normal working conditions, Employment applications are submitted in person to either Westford Academy’s main office or the Office of the Superintendent of Schools.  Due to current COVID-19 restrictions, applications are temporarily being processed remotely.  A printer and scanner will be needed to process - please follow the steps below:

1. Please print this APPLICATION.
2. Complete the application in its entirety with all required signatures.
3. Scan and save the completed application.
4. Scan the required backup documents
(If you do not have access to a printer or scanner, please contact Nina Mangan @ nmangan@westfordk12.us.)
5. Complete this SUBMISSION FORM and upload all scanned documents for processing.

Upon meeting all requirements, a PERMIT will be issued and sent back to you via the provided email address.

Your patience is appreciated during these unprecedented times.  If you have questions, please contact Nina Mangan at nmangan@westfordk12.us or leave a message at 978-692-5560 X2012.  Calls are being returns as soon as possible.
