Enjoy the weekend!

Good afternoon,

The following message was sent out to all W.A students today.  The message reviews the expectations for students as we begin the Remoter Learning Plan on Monday, April 6, 2020. I wanted to make sure that our parent(s) / guardian(s) were seeing the same message.  All of us need to be on the same page as we move forward.  I want thank you for your patience and understanding as the Remote Learning Plan was developed over the last three weeks.

I wish all of you a great weekend! Stay healthy, stay safe, and practice social distancing!

This too shall pass!

Hello Students,

We are looking forward to your participation in the Remote Learning Plan beginning on Monday April 6th. We know many of you have already been in communication with Westford Academy Staff via emails, Zooms, Meets, and/or other forms of communication the past few weeks.

By now, many of you have already seen the updates and are hopefully ready to earn “credit” for each of your classes during this time period.

Listed below are the STUDENT EXPECTATIONS for the Remote Learning Plan.

1. Students will earn “credit” for this time period for each class by completing the weekly assignments/requirements.

2. Set up a place in your house that you can work without distraction.  Students will have approximately 2-3 hours of work per day.

3. All assignments and instructions for each of your classes will be posted by 8:00 AM every Monday on Google Classroom.  Please plan to review and organizethe Remote Plans and assignments each Monday.

4. Deadlines for assignments will vary and will allow students to complete them at a convenient time.  If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to your teachers by email or during their "office hours."

5. All WA Handbook rules apply and please remember no recording of any sort without the consent of all involved.  Furthermore, all students involved in video calls are required to review this statement from WPS. “We are now going to begin a remote learning opportunity through the use of video communication.  It is important that we continue to respect the privacy and intellectual property rights of our school community – our teachers and our students. By participating in remote learning today, you agree that you may not save, record, share, or post this session or any photos from this session.  I also agree that I will not save, record, share or post this session or any photos from this session. The rules in school apply to this remote classroom experience. Students must treat each other with respect during our time together and must follow school rules. If you or your parents do not agree to these rules, please disconnect from this session and contact me.”

Also, as a reminder here is the WPS Responsible Use of Technology Policy.

6. Students must use their westfordk12.usemail to join all Google Meets.

7. Embrace this new and different style of learning.  It's NEW to all of us.

The three of us are always available by email, or you can set up a time to talk with our "office hours" below:

Mr. Twomey:  Tues. 12:00 -2:00 PM, Thurs. 9:00-11:00 AM dtwomey@westfordk12.us

Ms. Murphy:  Mon -Thurs 11:00-12:00 and 2:00-3:00 PM bmurphy@westfordk12.us

Please click on the video message from our entire Administration Team below.  We miss seeing all of you in the halls, and most importantly, we hope you are staying safe and healthy during these difficult times.  Keep the “social distancing” going. We all have to do our part. We'll get through this together.
