Good afternoon,

BOY!!! I would really enjoy a quiet and uneventful week at Westford Academy! This afternoon we had another issue in one of the bathrooms which caused a severe backup and we needed to immediately shut off the water to the school.  We believe that this may have been done purposefully by one or more students.  I am going to address the student body again next week about the destruction of school property and the mischievous behavior.  It MUST STOP!  If a student is caught destructing or damaging school property we will ask the WPD to prosecute that student (s).  Students could be charged with destruction of property over or under a certain amount or disturbing a school assembly, etc.  I am asking for your community support.  Please speak to your student and ask them to inform school personnel if they witness such inappropriate behavior! Thank you!

Notes from the Nurses Clinic

The flu is widespread across the US right now, and in our community of Westford as well. We are beginning to see cases here at Westford Academy, as we do each year. Please help us keep our students healthy by:

·       reinforcing the habit of hand-washing at home

·       teaching your student to cough/sneeze into their elbow

·       keep a student who is feeling unwell at home

·       keeping a student with a fever home until they have been fever free for at least 24 hours WITHOUT using any Tylenol, Advil, Motrin or Advil. If your student has vomited or had diarrhea, please keep them home for at least 24 hours after the last episode

Our students spend a great deal of their school day in close quarters, and we rely on the above practices to keep our students and staff as healthy as possible during cold and flu season. Please also refer to the online Student Handbook, page 42, or contact us should you have questions or concerns.
