Ghostwriter: Graduation 2019

Dear Senior Parents/Guardians:

The end of your child's high school career is near! We know you have many different ways to commemorate the occasion, but we'd like to offer another possibility. The staff of the student newspaper, The WA Ghostwriter, invites you to purchase a graduation shout-out for your son or daughter. We publish a printed June edition of the newspaper that is distributed at graduation.  Since it features a list of the ' college destinations, it tends to be a hot commodity! We are selling four different shout-out spaces this year.

Deadline for submitting all materials and payment: April 4, 2019

The Ghostwriterstaff will design your shout-out at no additional cost!

Photos that work well:senior portraits (that you have a release for), baby pictures, candids, close up and clear photos

Photos that do not work well:Iphone photos, blurry or unfocused photos

Message example: “We are so proud of you Sam!  We know you will do well in college and succeed at UConn!  We hope you always stay true to yourself and follow your dreams!  Love, Mom and Dad”

If you would like to purchase a shout-out, please fill out the Google form here: https://goo.gl/forms/s9CoFOiC6IxCgp2b2

Feel free to email me with any questions!

Comedic Hypnotist: WA DECA

Mark this on your calendar:  Frank Santos, Jr., the Comedic Hypnotist is back again at Westford Academy. He'll be performing on Friday, April 5 in the WA PAC from 7:00 - 8:00 PM. Tickets are on sale for $10 each. You can purchase tickets through a DECA student or contacting John Rogers at jrogers@westfordk12.us. The last 5 performances have been Sold-Out, and we are, again, reserving tickets to guarantee you (and yours) attendance at the event. Let me know how many tickets you'd like, and you can pick up and pay for them at our “Will-Call” table the night of the show. It is family-friendly entertainment and laugh out loud funny! This is a fundraiser to help 38 DECA students travel to and attend DECA's International Competition in Orlando in April.

FAME MEETING UPDATE AND FAME-OUS FUNDRAISER

Do you support music education in the Westford Public Schools? Has your son or daughter developed essential skills such as discipline, confidence, and a sense of belonging by participating in the nationally recognized music program that Westford offers? If so, FAME, Friends Advancing Music Education, is asking for your support.

FAME is the primary organization awarding scholarships to graduating Westford Academy seniors in recognition of their dedication and commitment to the study of music and music-related community service during their high school tenure. Last year, FAME awarded 13 scholarships to WA music students. In addition, FAME has provided music related mini-grants and other subsidies to music students of all grade levels.

FAME meets on the first Tuesday of each month at 7:00 PM, room 108 at WA.  Please Note: Due to a conflict with the WA Spring Chorus and Orchestra Concert, our next meeting has been rescheduled to April 9. If you support music education and would like to see FAME continue to recognize your music student's hard work and dedication, join our meetings and learn how you can help. If you can't attend the meeting but would still like to support FAME, visit the FAME websiteto make a one-time, tax deductible donation to FAME through our FAME-ous Fundraiser. To donate by mail, print our form hereand send it, along with a check, to: FAME, PO Box 627, Westford MA 01886.

Thank you!  Your support will help FAME continue to recognize your music student's hard work and dedication.
