Nice weather on the way! Enjoy!

Good afternoon,

Another week is in the books!  Next week I will share our plans with you for the end of year ceremonies.  Details to follow.  Things are beginning to come together and we hope to make the ceremonies special for those earning department awards, emerging leader awards, academic achievement awards, class Most Worthy Representative Awards, etc.  I will provide dates, times, and a list of events sometime next week so you can set your calendars!

• Disney Refund Checks- have been processed and will be mailed next week. I apologize.  It took a little longer and that was my fault.

NOTE: Last call to order Class of 2020 t-shirts from CSA Graphics!  Order now.  The final order will be placed on Monday, May 4, 2020.

Finally, I know this is really hard.  I am finding myself struggling more and more missing all of the personal interactions with students, staff, and families.  I miss greeting our seniors on a Monday morning as they smile and yawn at me and say “Good morning Mr. A.”    I miss visiting classrooms and seeing the great teaching and learning that takes place. I miss the BUZZ of the café!  I miss the hustle and bustle in the hallways. I miss watching games, listening to music at concerts and more.  I know this will pass and we will be stronger.  We are strong and we got this!  Thank you again for the many kind emails, much appreciated.  Those emails provide me with a feeling of support and they help me to keep the faith!  Stay Strong!

A notice from the Clinic:

The nurses will be available for Epi-pen pick up Tuesday, May 5th from 10-11 am.  The nurses will greet you at the clinic and bring your Epi-pen out to you. You can email Joan Mitchell with any questions.  jmitchell@westfordk12.us

OTHER ANNOUNCEMENTS:

National Teacher Appreciation Week is May 4-8, 2020.

Our incredible teachers have risen to the challenge of these uncertain times and remained present and a constant in our children’s lives and education. What a perfect time to thank them for all their hard work. Please consider sending a WEF note to your favorite teacher, counselor, teacher’s aide, school nurse, office staff member, or principal.  It’s a perfect way to say thank you and support innovation in Westford schools at the same time! Money generated from these notes will be used to fund grants for the Westford Public School system.

Just make a tax-deductible donation (minimum of $10 per honoree) to Westford Education Foundation and we will send your honoree an email from WEF with a personalized note.  The email will state your name and your note, but will not disclose the amount of your gift.  Better yet, ask your children to write the notes themselves! These cards make great end-of-year class gifts, as well. Note: Donations made to WEF in WPS staff members’ names comply with the revised state ethical regulations in terms of gift-giving and acceptance.

Westford Education Foundation is an independent, non-profit organization that promotes excellence in education.  We fund grants to teachers, staff, and the community for innovative educational initiatives, professional development, and life-long learning ventures.

Please visit https://www.westford.org/wef/teacher/ to fill out the form. You can complete your donation using your PayPal account or credit card.
