Safety Drill

Secure in place

Good morning,

We wanted to alert you that this morning at 8:50 am we ran our first safety drill of the year.  Safety is priority one for us at W.A. Students, faculty, and staff need to feel safe iin order to be productive.  This morning we placed the "building on alert" and then we "secured in place".

"Secure in Place refers to finding a safe location indoors ans staying there until you are given the "all clear" or told to evacuate. This can be due to student/staff issues, weather conditions, potential low risk threats in the community and or various non-life threatening issues, but severe enough to increase safety concerns and minimize all movements in our building."

Students, faculty, and staff did a great job this morning.  We will be following ou with a drill next month which may involve an evacuation to our rally points.

Have a great day and feel free to reach out if you have questions.  You can email our safety coordinator, Dean of Students, Bob Ware at bware@westfordk12.us or SRO Det. Anthony Bernadin at abernadin@westfordk12.us

Have a great day!

Respectfully, Jim Antonelli
