WA Safety Drill #2

Good afternoon,

I wanted to inform you that we just completed our second school safety drill at W.A.  Safety is paramount to all of us.  Today we practiced A.L.I.C.E. ( Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, and Evacuate).The building was placed in a lockdown due to an intruder on campus (note there was no real intruder on campus).  Each floor was placed in lockdown and the rooms were barricaded.  Once we identified that the alleged intruder was on floor two, floor one and the basement floor evacuated the building.  About fifteen minutes into the drill I alerted the building that the alleged intruder was in custody and the second floor evacuated to the our rally points.  

Our students and staff did a great job today.  I want to thank our Safety Director, Dean Bob Ware and our School Resource Officer Det. Anthony Bernadin as well as the members of our Crisis Response Team.  It is our hope that you will have a conversation with your student(s) later today about the drill.
