Enjoy your weekend!

Good afternoon,

There is a lot for you to read through today.  I will not add anything else this week!

From the Deans Corner

Final Exam Week Schedule and Plan - We will have regular bus schedules for the assessment days.  Late buses will not continue once exams begin.  Please know that it’s an “open campus” environment for exams.  Attendance will be taken during the exam blocks. Students will be allowed to arrive late and leave during extra help if they have transportation.  For bus riders, your students will be asked to be in the cafe, the library, or lobby’s while others are taking exams during the school day. All exams must be completed during their scheduled block.  Students may not move an exam without Dean approval.  All exceptions have already been cleared at this point.  Exams are only rescheduled for an excused absence, approved by the Dean.  Students are not permitted to take an exam during the MAKE UP time without approval. Students that are absent unexcused and with no notification from parent/guardian for an exam will receive a zero. Any questions, please have your student contact their Dean.

From the Counseling Department

Schedules for the 2023-2024 school year will be distributed in homerooms during advisory on Wednesday, 6/14.  To ensure the process goes smoothly, we ask that students follow the guidelines below if they have a concern or question about their schedule:

Flex time: Counselors are available to meet with students on a walk-in basis on Thursday June 15th, Friday June 16th and Tuesday June 20th from 7:35-8:25 AM

OR

Email:  Students can email their school counselor with details regarding your question or concern.

Note: Students should not come down to the counseling office during exam times.

Please note: We have an excellent faculty at Westford Academy and therefore do not accept requests for specific teachers.  All students can have one DLT per year (32.5 credits).  Seniors can have a full year DLT (30 credits).  Schedules are subject to change. Please check PowerSchool prior to school in the fall.

End of the Year Teacher Gifts!

As the school year comes to a close be sure to thank your teachers, school staff and coaches!  Please consider sending a WEF note to your favorite teacher, counselor, teacher’s aide, school nurse, office staff member, or principal.  It’s a perfect way to say thank you and support innovation at  Westford Public Schools at the same time! Money generated from these notes will be used to fund grants for WPS.

Just make a tax-deductible donation (minimum of $10 per honoree) to Westford Education Foundation and we will send your honoree an email from WEF with a personalized note.  The email will state your name and your note, but will not disclose the amount of your gift. This recognition makes a great end-of-year gesture! Note: Donations made to WEF in honor of WPS staff members comply with the state ethical regulations for gift-giving anD acceptance.
