Information for Students with Disabilities

Post secondary resources for Students with Learning Differences (IEPs or 504s)

Students who receive support services from either a 504 or IEP may want to investigate the programs and services that are specifically designed to meet their post-secondary educational needs. The Counseling Department works closely with the Special Education department to help students navigate the post-secondary process with the student's transitional plan in mind.

The Counseling Department has prepared a comprehensive packet to help students with learning differences begin to prepare for their next steps after Westford Academy. This packet includes information about post-secondary options, highlights the difference between services in high school and college, discusses how to make the transition to college, and more.

The Counseling Department also includes resources in our monthly newsletter.

Standardized Testing (ACTs, APs, SATs, PSATs)

If a student with an IEP or 504 is planning to take any standardized testing for the admissions process, the student must apply to the testing organization to determine eligibility. Modifications or accommodations at Westford Academy do not automatically translate to accommodations on standardized testing. Please see your counselor to discuss.
