Falling Back...an update! WPS 11-1-22

Whether you are on Team Permanent Standard Time or Team Daylight Savings Time, we will all be turning our clocks back this weekend.  Regardless of the debate as to which is better, I have always enjoyed the extra hour of sleep falling back provides for that specific weekend.  This might very well be the last time it happens, but nonetheless, our circadian rhythms will have to wait a bit longer to see if the dance actually continues or not.

A number of things happen this month which alter our typical schedules, so make sure you consult our WPS District Calendar so that you are aware of which days are impacted.  Between Election Day, Veterans’ Day, the Thanksgiving break and teacher conferences, every other week in the month includes some adjustment. As a reminder, the conferences are only for grades PreK-8, so the early release and delayed starts listed for those events do not impact Westford Academy. My apologies in advance to any of our teenagers hoping to try and convince the decision makers at home that they can sleep in longer or get out earlier on those two days.

On Wednesday, November 9, 2022 we will be conducting a virtual webinar at 7:00pm (although it might still feel like 8pm) to discuss the four priority areas we are exploring for our next Strategic District Improvement Plan.  It will start with a brief presentation about the priorities and then provide opportunities for feedback. It will be similar to the conversations that have been taking place at each of the School Advisory Council meetings recently and we wanted to provide this presentation for anyone not able to attend one of the meetings at the schools.

When: Nov 9, 2022 07:00 PM Eastern Time (US and Canada)
Topic: WPS SDIP Feedback Session on Priorities

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar.

November is always a very interesting month for schools.  It appears in the blink of an eye and seems like we are already in December before we know it. Of course, at least we get an extra hour of it.

Cheers!
